OVERVIEW
Welbeck Health Partners wanted the ability to offer patients a full health screening process, with multiple tests run across multiple systems being amalgamated into one accurate and perfectly formatted results and advice report. Working with jaam automation, they now have a low-code, flexible, AI-boosted automation process that does just that, and gets results back into patients’ hands quickly.

THE CHALLENGE
When Welbeck Health Partners decided to offer patients a one-stop-shop for a fast and thorough health screening, they faced a major challenge; time.
Different health tests use different systems and present results in vastly different formats, so without a lengthy manual process to extract, analyse, review and re-input data, the idea of offering a fast-turnaround health screening report seemed out of reach.
Welbeck Healthcare partners wanted to provide comprehensive health tests to patients over a range of specialities. It was envisaged that a patient could book a package of tests, arrive at the practice, have those tests carried out, and within a very short period have a concise and comprehensive healthcare report detailing the results, summaries of findings, and advice on how to improve their health. This solution would allow for Welbeck to scale their health care screening packages to cater for more test combinations while increasing the number of patients they are able to care for.
THE SOLUTION
The goal was a system to enable a frictionless patient journey from screening tests to results. Screening involves multiple test types and outcomes, sources of information, automated and manual reviews, that result in a final health check report for sign off by a clinician.
There were a number of parameters that jaam automation worked within to ensure that the implemented system ticked all of the boxes for Welbeck Health Partners, including:
- Integration into to the Patient Administration System (PAS) to read patient information, query the tests being performed, and store the final health reports created
- The ability to extract structured data from unstructured formats e.g. extract the test results from PDF documents produced from the various test machines
- The ability to read structured data from test data feeds such as blood work
- Event monitors to allow for alerts, notifications to staff, and timely responses to test results being returned
- Clinician application user interfaces that provide dashboarding to view patient journeys, status of tests, and access to in-flight tasks requiring completion
- Service Level Agreement (SLA) capability to track adherence to goals set for the service being provided and to alert senior management of any issues meeting those defined goals
- The ability to quickly assemble good looking, easy to read, and detailed reports on patient health based on rules defined by specialists and data provided via test result sources
- The ability to add comments, interpretations and the like to reports once assembled, then review, sign off, and store the final reports to the PAS
- The ability to automatically assign tasks to individuals involved in the process, as needed
To achieve all of this, the jaam team used a combination of technologies that could extract, read and import both structured and unstructured data, then automatically generate a well-formatted report with in-built ability for clinician review, amendment and notes.
The reason that the health screening service can happen is because of the technology implemented to pull together the final report.
